Building a Green and Sustainable Future: Doo Group Releases 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report 

This year marks a milestone for Doo Group, as we welcomed our 10^th Anniversary with a comprehensive business ecosystem spanning 10 major business lines. As a global leading financial services group, Doo Group always strives to achieve transformative growth while actively embracing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

This report will demonstrate Doo Group’s social responsibility and role in promoting a green and sustainable future as an international organization, showcasing our ESG practices and achievements over the past year.

Environment: Protecting the Planet with Green Activities

Environmental protection is the foundation of sustainability. As such, Doo Group implements energy-saving and emission-reduction measures. In addition to creating green workplaces, we also actively participate in regional environmental protection initiatives, taking concrete actions to protect our planet.

Beach Cleaning and Turtle Conservation Event

On 12 July 2024, our dedicated team in Thailand organized a meaningful beach cleaning and turtle conservation event in Sattahip, Thailand. Equipped with gloves and garbage bags, they worked together to tackle marine debris and keep the coastal areas pristine. In addition, our team took part in cleaning and maintaining the turtle enclosures at the sea turtle conservation center. Guided by conservation experts, they learned about the life cycles of sea turtles and the importance of their preservation.

This initiative reflects our commitment to promoting marine conservation and protecting the delicate balance of our marine ecosystems. By acting and spreading awareness, we aim to make a lasting impact on our environment.

Social: Fostering Community Harmony through Social Responsibility 

Social harmony and stability are essential for the development of any business. Doo Group is committed to enhancing employee well-being, promoting gender equality, and contributing to the positive development of society through a series of initiatives. 

Enhancing Employee Benefits 

Doo Group places great importance on the personal growth of our employees. Through the inclusion of more professional training organizations in our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program, we empower our team members to achieve ongoing progress and development in their careers. In addition, we have introduced a more comprehensive employee benefits program to ensure every team member enjoys an equitable and healthy work environment. 

Promoting Cultural Inclusion 

Doo Group has established over 20 global operation centers, bringing together employees from diverse cultural backgrounds across the world. We deeply respect local customs and traditions, fostering cultural understanding and exchange among our team members through vibrant celebrations of festivals such as Lunar New Year, Islamic New Year, Thailand’s Songkran Festival, International Women’s Day, and more. These initiatives help us cultivate an inclusive and harmonious workplace where everyone feels valued and connected.

-9th FCAS International Dragon Boat Race 2024 

From 7 to 9 June 2024, Doo Group participated as a sponsor in the 9th FCAS International Dragon Boat Race 2024. Competing alongside dragon boat teams from around the world, the event showcased thrilling water races and vibrant cultural exchanges. Through this collaboration with the event organizer, The Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah, we successfully promoted traditional Chinese culture, contributing to the preservation and development for future generations.  

Charitable Donations 

With a special focus on supporting vulnerable groups, Doo Group has been actively involved in various charitable donations and community welfare. We strive to do our utmost to improve their living conditions and spread warmth to those in need. 

-Doo Cares 2024 

On 9 November 2024, as part of the “Doo Cares 2024” event, DOOers visited Bodhi Homecare in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This registered NGO and Buddhist center provides shelter and care for many children with disabilities, abandoned children, and elderly individuals who have been forsaken by their families. We contributed essential supplies and electronic devices to support the center’s efforts and spent a meaningful day with the residents, sharing moments of warmth and care.

-Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Cyprus 

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent global non-profit organization that has focused on the health and well-being of children since its establishment. The organization is dedicated to organizing, discovering, and supporting initiatives that improve children’s welfare. From 4 to 11 December 2024, Doo Group contributed to the RMHC Cyprus by distributing donation vouchers to raise funds for their charity’s initiatives. 

On 16 December 2024, Doo Group’s dedicated team in Cyprus hosted a heartwarming event at the RMHC. Our team baked cookies for children facing health challenges and their families, spreading joy and love during difficult times. We also donated gifts and essential supplies to the charity, striving to provide support and hope to more families in need.   

Governance: Leading with Transparency for a Better Corporate Future

Effective corporate governance is the cornerstone of sustainable business development. With that in mind, Doo Group continuously strengthens internal management, enhances transparency, and ensures that all decisions align with the highest ethical and legal standards. 

ESG Reporting Conference 

To enhance internal awareness and understanding of ESG principles, Doo Group regularly organizes ESG briefings to introduce employees to the fundamental concepts of ESG and its significance for the Group’s development. We also encourage employees to actively incorporate ESG principles into their daily lives, working together to promote sustainable development for both the Group and society. 

Corporate Talent Development 

Doo Group provides employees with a range of learning opportunities to support their personal and professional growth. This includes the Udemy digital learning plan, leadership retreats, and mastering mobile photography techniques workshop. Employees are encouraged to select learning content that aligns with their interests and career development goals, allowing them to continually enhance their skills. 

Compliance and Risk Management 

Compliance is essential for financial institutions. Doo Group has participated in several international summits on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, engaging with leading organizations, experts, and scholars to explore ways to promote the sustainable development of the financial industry.

–7 October 2024: EU Global Facility on AML/CFT Correspondent Banking Workshop hosted by the CBUAE AML Department.

–9 October 2024: Financial Crime Compliance: Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Controls hosted by the CBUAE and the EU Global Facility on AML/CFT.

–30 October 2024: National Assessment Report on the Risks of Financing Arms Proliferation Workshop hosted by the CBUAE AML Department and conducted by the Executive Office for Control and Non-Proliferation. 

These conferences offered valuable insights and strategies for managing compliance risks, enabling Doo Group to implement effective risk management measures and further strengthen its compliance capabilities.
